Skill Sessions
Skill sessions are a single 2.5 hour class during the week designed for those who are interested in learning new skills or refining technique, but can only commit to one session.
Beginner Mountain Bike Skills Session
Are you new to mountain biking or interested in dialing in the fundamental skills? This 2.5 hour session will cover body position, balance, and braking skills in an open area followed by short laps on single track to apply the skills on trail. You’ll receive feedback and supportive coaching in a fun and no stress environment.

One 2.5 hour session during the day or in the evening
Small group size (6 participants max)
Rider Level:
You are new to mountain biking and want to learn the foundational skills of body position, balance, and braking
You are looking to get more experience and coaching on single track riding
You are looking for a refresher of the basic skills
You enjoy learning in a supportive group
Skills Covered:
Body position, balance, and bike body separation
Proper brake control
Carrying momentum
Line choice and looking ahead
How to dismount the bike if you want to bail
Mental aspects of staying relaxed, positive, self-talk, and visualizing success
Location:
Meet at Galbraith Mountain Southside parking lot
We’ll work on skills in open areas, training zones, and easy green trails

$95 for one 2.5 hour session of professional and intentionally planned mountain bike skills instruction and feedback.

Cancellation and Booking Policy:
I understand that unexpected events can happen. If something unexpected comes up, reach out to me ASAP and I’ll do my best to find a solution that works.
You’re welcome to transfer your booking to another date (subject to availability) at no cost up to 3 days before the booking.
Cancellations made more than 7 days before the program date will receive a full refund minus a $10 administrative fee.
Cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable.
Minimum Numbers
All programs need a minimum of 2 riders to go ahead.
If a program doesn’t reach the minimum, I will contact you in advance with the option to:
Transfer to another date
Receive a full refund.
Use the credit toward another program or private 1:1 lesson.
Weather and Safety
Skills programs will operate in all but the most extreme or unsafe environmental conditions.
Wild Kat Rides reserves the right to reschedule or cancel programs due to circumstances beyond my control (global pandemic, forest fire and subsequent smoke, thunderstorms, torrential rain or snow, etc). Participants will receive a full refund, minus a $10 administrative fee, or an option to transfer to another date.
Equipment:
You are responsible for your bike being in safe, working order for the program.
Helmets are mandatory at all times while on a bike.
It is recommended that participants wear protective eye wear, gloves, knee, and elbow pads.
Medical and other concerns:
Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport that may involve many risks, dangers, and hazards.
Minor injuries can occur, as well as major injuries such as concussion, broken bones, and heart attacks.
There is always a chance of personal injury, death, property damage, and loss.
All participants are required to sign a Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement at time of registration, prior to start of trip.
Participants are required to inform Wild Kat Rides of any allergies, medical conditions, or injuries that might affect their riding or health, including any medications taken.
Rock Roll Skill Session
Have you been eyeing bigger features and wanting to ride them with confidence? This 2.5 hour skill session will focus on the skills needed to conquer riding rock slab in a supportive, fun, and safe environment.

Session includes an explanation and demonstration of skills, participant practice of skills, video analysis and feedback
We’ll do some trail riding to access rock slab features near trailhead
Rider level:
You’re comfortable riding blue and black trails with steep, rooty sections but don’t ride of the technical rock features
You are looking for more control and tips with advanced braking skills and body position
You’d like to gain confidence on approaching intimidating features and looking for the right line
You have a goal of riding rock slab features on Galbraith such as the SST rock, Radical Dragon rock, and Spirit Bear rock roll
You enjoy learning in a supportive group
Skills covered:
Balance and body position on steep rock rolls
Advanced brake control and managing traction on steep descents
Considering multiple line choices
Linking features together for better overall flow
Mental aspects of staying relaxed, positive self-talk, and visualizing success
Location:
Meet at Galbraith Mountain Southisde parking lot
We’ll work on specific features on trails that are accessible within the 2.5 hour time frame

Cornering Skill Session
Are you interested in improving your cornering skills so you can ride corners with more confidence and more speed? This 2.5 hour skill session will dial in your cornering skills by going over technique, allowing time for plenty of practice on different corners, providing feedback, and video analysis.

We’ll do some trail riding to access rock slab features near trailhead
Rider level:
You’re comfortable riding blue and black trails, managing descents under control, and rolling over obstacles with confidence.
You want to ride corners with more speed, control, and confidence.
You are interested in learning about the specific skills of cornering so you can advance your riding skills and ride with more flow.
You enjoy learning in a supportive group.
Skills covered:
Balance and body position in corners
High speed cornering in berms and flat corners
Clumping and pressure control
Linking corners together for better overall flow
Mental aspects of staying relaxed, positive self-talk, and visualizing success
Location:
Meet at Galbraith Mountain Southisde parking lot
We’ll work on specific corners on trails that are accessible within the 2.5 hour time frame
