Progression Sessions
Progression Sessions are a series of three weekly classes designed to help you practice your skills, progress in your confidence, and ride your bike more playfully on the trails. Each session builds upon the previous one in a supportive, inclusive environment with one-on-one coaching. Meet other riders at a similar level and grow your riding community along the way!
Galbraith Beginner Progression Sessions
New to mountain biking or interested in tuning up your skills in a no pressure environment? This 3 week series will get you stoked on riding and build strong foundational skills while having fun. We’ll work on body positioning, proper brake control, and being dynamic on the bike.

3 consecutive weekly sessions
2.5 hours each week
Small group size (6 participants max)
Rider Level:
You are new to mountain biking and want to learn the foundational skills of body position, braking, and balance
You are looking to get more experience and coaching on single track trail riding
You are looking for a refresher of the basics skills
You enjoy learning in a supportive group
Skills Covered:
Body position, balance, and bike body separation
Proper brake control
Carrying momentum
Line choice and looking ahead
Mental aspects of staying relaxed, positive self-talk, and visualizing success
Location:
Meet at Galbraith Mountain Southside parking lot
We’ll work on skills in open areas, training zones, and easy green trails

Choose one of the following series dates:
May (Fridays): May 15, 22, and June 5 from 12:30-3PM (no session on May 29)
June (Mondays): June 1, 8, and 15 from 6-8:30PM

$275 for three 2.5 hour sessions of professional and intentionally planned mountain bike skills instruction and feedback.

I understand that unexpected events can happen. If something unexpected comes up, reach out to me ASAP and I’ll do my best to find a solution that works.
You’re welcome to transfer your booking to another date (subject to availability) at no cost up to 3 days before the booking.
Cancellations made more than 7 days before the program date will receive a full refund minus a $10 administrative fee.
Cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable.
Minimum Numbers
All programs need a minimum of 2 riders to go ahead.
If a program doesn’t reach the minimum, I will contact you in advance with the option to:
Transfer to another date
Receive a full refund.
Use the credit toward another program or private 1:1 lesson.

Skills programs will operate in all but the most extreme or unsafe environmental conditions.
Wild Kat Rides reserves the right to reschedule or cancel programs due to circumstances beyond my control (global pandemic, forest fire and subsequent smoke, thunderstorms, torrential rain or snow, etc). Participants will receive a full refund, minus a $10 administrative fee, or an option to transfer to another date.
Equipment:
You are responsible for your bike being in safe, working order for the program.
Helmets are mandatory at all times while on a bike.
It is recommended that participants wear protective eye wear, gloves, knee, and elbow pads.
Medical and other concerns:
Mountain biking is an inherently dangerous sport that may involve many risks, dangers, and hazards.
Minor injuries can occur, as well as major injuries such as concussion, broken bones, and heart attacks.
There is always a chance of personal injury, death, property damage, and loss.
All participants are required to sign a Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement at time of registration, prior to start of trip.
Participants are required to inform Wild Kat Rides of any allergies, medical conditions, or injuries that might affect their riding or health, including any medications taken.
Galbraith Intro to Air Progression Sessions
Are you wanting to get more comfortable with your wheels off the ground? This three week series will build your confidence on small drops and jumps by focusing on body position, technique, and timing with plenty of practice on safe terrain.

3 consecutive weekly sessions
2.5 hours each week
Small group size (6 participants max)
Rider level:
You ride flowy blue trails and want to work on riding more of the jump and drop features
You’ve rolled down or ridden features that can be aired and want them to feel less tense
You are looking to get your wheels off the ground for the first time or with more control
You want to understand the technique of riding jumps and drops and not just be told to “send it”
You want clear coaching in a supportive environment
Skills covered:
Understanding the anatomy of a jump
Correct technique for riding drops and jumps
Body position for staying balanced and relaxed in the air
Maneuvers including front and rear wheel lifts, level lifts, and bunnyhops
How to build consistency so airtime feels fun and not scary
Mental aspects of staying relaxed, positive self-talk, and visualizing success
Location:
Meet at Galbraith Mountain Southside parking lot

Galbraith Intermediate Tech Progression Sessions
Ready to ride with confidence and have fun in a supportive group? This three week series is designed for riders who are confident on flowy blue trails, but are seeking to increase their confidence and control on technical trail features such as roots, rocks, and small drops.

Small group size (6 participants max)
Rider level:
You ride flowy blue trails and want to work on the technical features that slow you down
Roots and rocks make you tense or lose your flow
You want to be the boss of your bike rather than the passenger
You enjoy learning in a supportive group
Skills covered:
Balance and body position for technical terrain
Managing traction on uneven ground
Brake control and braking without skidding
Carrying momentum through rocks and roots
Line choice and looking ahead
Mental aspects of staying relaxed, positive self-talk, and visualizing success
Location:
Meet at Galbraith Mountain Southside parking lot
We’ll work on specific features on the following trails:

Galbraith Advanced Tech Progression Sessions
Have you been eyeing rock slab features and wanting to ride them? This three week series will boost your confidence as you master body position, braking in control, committing to line choice, and conquering the mental aspect of riding bigger rock features.

2.5 hours each week
Small group size (6 participants max)
Rider level:
You’re comfortable riding blue and black trails with steep, rooty sections but don’t ride all of the technical rock features.
You are looking for more control and tips with advanced braking skills and body position
You’d like to gain confidence on approaching intimidating features and looking for the right line.
You want to do the SST rock roll this year!!!
You enjoy learning in a supportive group.
Skills covered:
Balance and body position on steep rock rolls
Advanced brake control and managing traction on steep descents
Considering multiple line choices
Linking features together for better overall flow
Mental aspects of staying relaxed, positive self-talk, and visualizing success
Location:
Meet at Galbraith Mountain Southside parking lot
We’ll work on specific features on the following trails:
Spirit Bear rock slab
SST rock roll
Radical Dragon rock roll
